About

## Our mission The Senegalese Association of America (SENASA) brings together Senegalese people living across the United States. Its mission is to address the concerns of the Senegalese community in the U.S., to uphold its social, cultural and traditional values, and to take an active part in the community's economic development. This mission is carried out through gatherings for exchange and sharing, cultural and sporting activities — within the association or in partnership with other organizations and institutions — as well as through publications. ## Our commitment The association is strictly independent: it refrains from any political, religious or philosophical activity or stance. Its work extends across the entire United States. ## Our governance The association is run by a seven-member executive board, elected for a three-year term renewable once: the President, Vice-President, Secretary-General, Treasurer-General, and the chairs of the "Women, Children & Social", "Organization, Youth & Sports" and "Communication & Culture" commissions. A twenty-one-member steering committee, which includes the board, guides and oversees the association's work. An independent general controller ensures sound management. An annual general assembly is held each year.
